The Delaware Center for Health Innovation (DCHI) is pleased to welcome Charita Jackson-Durosinmi, George Meldrum, and Salvatore Seeley.

Charita Jackson-Durosinmi, BA

Charita is a dedicated humanitarian who works and serves both the local community as well as communities internationally.  She has dedicated twenty-five plus years of service working to serve special and at-risk populations; fifteen of those years were spent providing services directly to the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Workers and their families.  Charita Jackson-Durosinmi also works with Westside Family Healthcare’s Family Health Ambassador Program. This program provides services primarily to mothers-to-be, new mothers and care providers and their families in designated zones within the state of Delaware.

George Meldrum, MA

George currently serves as AARP’s State President, its top volunteer. AARP Advocates at the State and Federal level to give Delawareans a voice. The First State Action Team, a group of advocacy volunteers, works with statewide coalitions of partners on policy issues that affect AARP’s 189,000 members in Delaware, potential members, and their families. George has been instrumental in helping to navigate the environment and pass a key piece of legislation in 2016, the CARE Act.  The CARE Act provides more supports for unpaid family caregivers. George is also currently working closely with AARP to pass a bill called “Share the Care.” The bill would give some much needed help to family caregivers with administering medications to loved ones.

Salvatore Seeley, DHS, LCSW

Salvatore is a clinical social worker specializing in sexual health counseling and therapy.  He has spent the past eighteen years creating mental health programs, HIV prevention programs and capacity building at CAMP Rehoboth, the LGBTQ community center in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Mr. Seeley has presented workshops on HIV prevention using the internet, gay men and sex risk in resort communities, gay male sexuality, Transgender health and cultural competency and working with the LGBTQ populations.

DCHI is excited to have Charita, George and Salvatore join the Patient and Consumer Advisory Committee.  Each of them will contribute important new perspectives to the work of DCHI, as well as valued added experience and skills to the overall health transformation work.
