The California Community College system and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education both represented the growing need to better link college programs to growing needs in the labor industry, specifically in the healthcare field. Speaking at the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) conference this month, both organizations highlighted the need for more collaboration across institutions and programs that focus on regional needs, rather than generalizing to the entire state.

The Workforce and Education Committee, under DCHI, is committed to providing cutting edge education and training opportunities for future health care providers. By partnering with state and regional educational institutions, DCHI is establishing a comprehensive training strategy that will benefit all communities across the state. For example, DCHI is working closely with theUniversity of Delaware College of Health Sciences to implement workforce training for current and future health care workers, including a focus on population health..
